In this adventure, the runners come across a strange institute run by doctors who want to erase all human emotion and make a docile human race. Early in the episode Jessica (Heather Menzies) is allowed to observe the treatment given to a middle-aged woman (Jay W. MacIntosh) who the physician considers to be too strong-willed and independent (our heroes patch into the video feed and see the whole thing as well). The woman is strapped onto a medical table while all her emotions are eliminated by an electronic device placed around her forehead.
The baddies turn on Jessica toward the end of the program, as she has similar qualities, and she's soon strapped down to the table and interrogated before they apply the device to her as well. Our heroes finally arrive, and a sort of mind-battle and laser fight ensues before Jessica is saved.
